The 130/650 Heritage Flex Dobson has a collapsible tube and is therefore a compact travel device. The easy handling makes it an ideal telescope for beginners
ADVANTAGES for beginners:
inexpensive
good corrected 3-element eyepieces with 40° and 55° view
starpointer
parabolic mainmirror
Mount with prism clamp (also suitable for other telescopes)
easy handling, perfect for beginners
DISADVANTAGES:
basic focuser
one arm secondary-mirrorholder
THE TELESCOPE:
The Heritage 130 Dobson offers a large opening and is therefore ideally for the observation of DeepSky objects. With the short focal length, it allows to survey even large visual fields. The moon and planets can be observed very well. Many devices in this class have only a cheap ball mirror, which gives a bad picture at higher magnifications. Skywatcher installed here parabolic mirrors, which provide a much sharper image of the object. The Dobson platform keeps the tube safe and wobbly and can also be used with other telescopes thanks to prism clamp. The easy handling makes it an ideal telescope for beginners. The recommended maximum magnification is approximately 250x.
Unleash the power of your smartphone to take you on a guided tour of the night sky—no telescope experience required.
Patented, award-winning StarSense sky recognition technology uses your smartphone to analyze star patterns overhead and calculate the telescope’s position in real-time.
A 130mm parabolic primary mirror helps you make the most of StarSense technology. Locate faint, deep-sky objects in seconds and see them in more detail than ever before.
A sturdy tabletop Dobsonian-style base that makes it easy to follow the on-screen arrows to your desired target. When the bullseye turns green, it's ready to view in the telescope's eyepiece.
StarSense Explorer Powered by SkySafari™ app automatically generates a list of objects currently visible. View planets, brighter nebulae and galaxies, star clusters, and double stars from the city. Or take your telescope to darker skies to see even more.
Includes a 25mm and 10mm Kellner eyepiece, the StarSense smartphone dock, a StarPointer™ red dot finderscope, an eyepiece rack, and a collimation cap.

Manual altazimuth mount with altitude slow motion adjustment with a sliding rod makes it easy to follow the on-screen arrows to your desired target. When the bullseye turns green, it’s ready to view in the telescope’s eyepiece.
127mm (5”) Newtonian reflector with highly reflective coatings and enough light gathering ability to view all the best celestial objects.
Includes 25mm and 10mm eyepieces, 2x Barlow Lens, StarSense smartphone dock, a red dot finderscope (in case you want to use the telescope without your phone), and a full-height tripod.
